Proposing Soon And Getting The Jitters? Here’s How To Get It Right From The…
The end of 2020 is almost here, but this year in K-pop is not even close to slowing down. Each week brings new music and new artists, and we recently saw the arrival of the buzzworthy StayC.
A six-member girl group featuring members Sumin, Sieun, Isa, Seeun, Yoon and J, StayC arrived on the scene earlier this month with their debut single So Bad. Here’s what you need to know about the new group.
StayC are managed by High Up Entertainment, a company headed by producer duo Black Eyed Pilseung. The pair have made a name for themselves in the K-pop world with hit after hit since 2009, and have written singles for popular female acts including Twice, Sistar and Apink. StayC is the first act of their own Black Eyed Pilseung are producing.

Sieun, whose real name is Park Si-eun, has acted in numerous K-dramas and appeared in several films. She won the 2018 award for best young actress at the SBS Drama Awards after appearing in the show Still 17.
She most recently appeared in Mystic Pop-up Bar, playing the younger version of Hwang Jung-eum’s character Weol-ju. Her father is Park Nam-jung, a singer who rose to fame in South Korea in the 1980s.
Seeun (Yoon Se-eun) has also acted, appearing most recently in 2017’s The Guardians.
StayC is an acronym for “star to a young culture”, a name which reflects the act’s aim of dominating pop culture. Their first album, called “Star To A Young Culture”, dropped on November 12, and featured the single So Bad and B-side Like This.
It went on to become the year’s first debut album by a K-pop girl group to sell more than 10,000 physical copies in its first week, according to sales tracker Hanteo Chart.
